#ONPASSIVE BLOG VIDEO – Lead Your Team in the Right Direction in the Age of AI (HOH)

AI and automation will alter the very essence of work. Leaders mustn’t neglect or encourage other leaders in the organization to neglect this AI and data-driven movement; what we call the “intelligence movement.” Finding out how to use AI, solving people-related issues, avoiding AI’s legal pitfalls, ensuring that you have the right technologies in place, and so on are all important considerations for today and tomorrow’s business leaders.

This technological revolution is going to change what becoming a successful leader, entails. It makes sense, then, that the intelligence revolution’s business leaders would need to adapt. The way we manage, organizations will shift, and the future’s influential leaders will need a slightly different skill set than the conventional attributes necessary for leadership.

What kind of talents do we talk about? We think the following five leadership qualities would need to be cultivated by influential leaders in the intelligence revolution:

#1 Agility
The speed of change is astounding, particularly with AI. Therefore, leaders must be capable of welcoming and celebrating change (including emerging technologies). Most significantly, they do not see change as a burden but see it as an opportunity for development and innovation, both at the level of individuals and organizations.

#2 Emotional Intelligence
Softer skills such as emotional intelligence and empathy will become more critical for human employees as more and more job tasks become automated. And if we expect such human abilities to be prioritized by the workplaces of the future, it is fair that leaders would model these behaviors themselves.

#3 Accountability
Flatter organizational structures, more project-based teams, and working together, all of these factors would contribute to more open and collaborative organizations. Therefore, leaders would need to be more honest and keep themselves accountable. What’s more, their acts must be explicitly associated with the objectives of the company.

#4 Authenticity
Every new technology brings problems of ethics and misuse, not to mention issues of management of the transition. Brought, therefore, leaders in the intelligence revolution brought by AI would need to create trust with clients, workers, and other stakeholders, which implies exuding credibility. In times of instability, transition, or failure, this will become particularly important.

#5 Culture in the Workplace

Much more diverse, multicultural, and scattered than they are now, the workplaces of the future will be. Successful leaders will understand and exploit the differences people bring to the table and value and work together with individuals from all communities, particularly though they have a different view of the world.

AI is going to influence corporations, in all markets, in all shapes and sizes. Discover how the company can be prepared for an AI-driven environment.

The main takeaway here is that in the intelligence revolution, if not more so, human leadership abilities will be just as critical. For any business, people are, and will remain, the most valuable asset. But in the future, what we consider as crucial leadership abilities will look very different from the conventional leadership abilities that are respected today.
